A Reason for Life
I came across another passage in a book that my grandfather owned (before he passed away 2 years ago). It meant a lot, after reading one of my dear friend's blog entry just the other day. I think each of us, at some point or another, can relate to this passage. Sometimes we question if we are doing "all" we need to be doing for the Lord - wondering if we should be doing more? We see what others are doing, and wonder if that should be our load as well? When truly, as long as we are doing what we feel the Lord is leading us to do personally, that's all that matters. As long as we aim to stay in His perfect will, we can't go wrong!
I'd like to share this with you:
I don't know how to say it, but somehow it seems to me
That maybe we are stationed where God wants us to be.
That the little place I'm filling is the reason for my birth
And just to do the work I do, He sent me down to earth.
If God had wanted otherwise, I recon He'd have made
Me just a little different, or a worse, or better grade.
And since God knows and understands all things of land and sea
I fancy that He placed me here, just where He wanted me.
Sometimes I get to thinking, as my labours I renew
That I should like a higher place with the greater tasks to do.
But I come to the conclusion, when the envying is stilled,
That the post to which God sent me is the post He wanted filled.
So I plod along and struggle, in the hope when day is through
That I'm really necessary to the things God wants to do.
And there isn't any service I can give that I should scorn
For it may be just the reason God allowed me to be born.

Great quote
I found the quote below in an old book that my grandfather owned. He passed away 2 years ago, but I was going through his book the other day, and found this quote underlined. If it was important to him, it's important to me.
"Why were the saints, saints? Because they were cheerful when it was difficult to be cheerful, patient when it was difficult to be patient; and because they pushed on when they wanted to stand still, and kept silent when they wanted to talk, and were agreeable when they wanted to be disagreeable. That was all". Author Unknown

Christmas Tree is UP! Family on their way!
Well, we decided to put our Christmas Tree up tonight, while I still have the energy to do it! And it comes at a perfect time, as my Mom and sister are arriving in Essex tomorrow for a visit! Since I won't be able to travel home this year, this trip will be "our Christmas"!

Thankfulness continues...
141) Hearing our baby girl's heartbeat every 2 weeks at our appointment!
142) The nursery, just about finished, with lots of pink, frilly, and soft things for our little one!
143) Those who have blessed us SO much with many things for our baby! We feel so grateful to have an amazing family, and friends, who are just like family!
144) Christmas music playing softly in the background, as I continue to put our home back together after our renovations.
145) A lovely friend who dropped over last week while I was home sick, with some treats! And many more friends who offered to do just about anything for me while I was home. It means more than you know!
146) A great friend, who jumped in to help us finish up some renovations, even though he is SO busy already. Thanks for squeezing us in. We appreciate it so much!
147) Thoughtful teachers who put on a Sunday School baby shower for us! Thanks to each of you for the time you put in, and the wonderful games and gifts!
148) The miracle of carrying a beautiful baby - we can't wait to meet this special little person!
149) The anticipation of my Mom and sister coming for a visit next week! Can't WAIT to see them!
150) Jesus - and the love He pours out on us each and every day. May I remember to take time to notice the small joys and blessings He is always giving!

Thanksgiving in Essex
We had a wonderful day today, beginning with church this morning, followed by a delicious Thanksgiving meal at the Rivest's.
Living away from home is sometimes difficult when it comes to Holidays, but having friends who are just like "family" makes up the difference. We are so thankful for so many friends who take us in, and treat us just like their own.
So actually, we "do" have family in Essex - so many amazing, loving people who give so much, and make us feel like we belong.
Thank you to all of our Essex family for being the fabulous people that you are! We love you!

Thankfulness continues...
131) Feeling the subtle kicks of our beautiful baby girl. What a blessing! We can't wait to meet her :)
132) A husband who has been working so hard painting our entire home, so it will be perfect for when our baby arrives!
133) Friends that visit and bring joy.
134) A wonderful baby shower in Halifax, and seeing so many special friends and family.
135) Lots of laughter filling my day, and friends to laugh with!
136) 17 amazing piano students! I feel very blessed!
137) A long weekend at home - Shaun finishing up all the painting, while I reorganize this house, and return things back to normal!
138) The perfect husband for me - I think I mentioned him once already in this post, but truly, I couldn't be more thankful for him.
139) My sister, and her little baby on the way. Can't wait to be an Auntie.
140) The still small voice that speaks to me every day, if I'm listening.

Yummy Food & More!
Joanne made us delicious bacon sandwiches last night after church. Here is Shaun stuffing a HUGE sandwich in his mouth!
And as for me, I FINALLY decided to trust Jeff's suggestions, and tried a bacon and cheese whiz sandwich! I have said for years that I hate cheese whiz, and that it's practically plastic. But I have to say, DELICIOUS!
Then he made me try graham crackers with peanut butter. And again, I have always said I hate graham crackers..but they were DELICIOUS too!
Here is the bacon and cheese whiz sandwich.
Picture after a busy, but fun day!
