Corn Maze with Young Adults!
Luisa, Amy and I, standing outside the corn maze.
All us troops trying to find our way around 11 acres of maze! The girls and guys split up. Us girls could not even get half way through the first phase of the maze!! You have to find 5 different markers before you get out, and we could only get to 2! Then we had to turn back and come out the entrance! How embarrassing! But we were in there over an hour and a half!! From sunshine to pitch black! But phase two we did a bit better - then again, the corn maze guys helped us through :) It is much more tricky then we expected. You really get lost in there! Especially in the dark!

Shaun is PAINTING!
Well, this is the beginning of Shaun's painting adventure! He is painting all the classrooms at church. This is the paint splatter wall..but it looks much cooler now with about 10 colors on it!
The kids loved this room! More finished pictures soon!
Shaun working hard !
Well you can see from this picture that my hair is DEFINITELY not black anymore! Dark brown, with a tinge of red!Friday, September 19, 2008
Not Much New!
As you can see, still no more pictures! We've been so busy lately, so not really any pictures of consequence! I still have a few of my new colored hair to post - but I must admit, it's very difficult to see the color in the photos. It is dark brown, with a bit of red in it. I prefer it MUCH better than the black dye that I did at home :)
We have a big Youth Event tonight that we are going to help with, called "The Net!" Pastor Nathan is organizing The Net one Friday a month, in the community, to reach out to the teens of Essex. Tonight is big screen movie night, so we are hoping that tons of teens come out. It's been advertised in the paper on many occasions, so it should be a blast!
Tomorrow, Shaun and I are going on a Corn Maze race with the Young Adults, so that should be fun! It's about an hour drive away - I've always wanted to do a corn field maze, so here's my chance! I WILL have pictures of that!
Well, that's all for now! We are in for a beautiful, hot weekend in Essex! Hope you are too!

Slack on my blog this week!
Hi All!
Wow, just realized it's been one week since I last made an entry! So as you can tell, it has been an EXTREMELY busy week! We had Fall programs starting up at the church this week, so we were busy beavers, but everything is coming along great!
Hmm, not sure if anything is new. Let me think! Well, Shaun got to watch a calf being born at our friend's farm the other day. Unfortunately, I wasn't there, so we have no pictures. But he thought it was really neat.
I am looking forward to going to Missouri for a Joyce Meyer's conference on Oct. 2nd, and meeting up with my Mom and some other ladies from Rock! Then in November, I will be visiting around the beginning of the month. Lots to look forward to!
Well, I hope to have some more pictures soon! Get back to the regular blog postings!
By the way, if you leave a comment, make sure you leave your name! I got 3 anonymous comments, and I am wondering who they are from!

My BLACK hair! (as promised!)
I got my hair cut on Saturday, but later that day decided I wanted to darken my hair, because the sun had really lightened it over the summer. Well, it turned out MUCH more black then I was expecting. But, oh well! Fine for a change! Shaun absolutely loves it, so if he's happy, I'm happy!
A funny story though, one of the boy's from Sunday School, who is about 10, came up to me and said, dead seriously, "Michelle, if you put a bit of that black stuff on your eye lids, you could so be GOTH!" haha Cracked me up!
And yes, I have also been called Pocahontas! and much more :)Sunday, September 7, 2008
It's SEPTEMBER!
Hi All!
Just a quick note! Can't believe it is September already. Wow, time is sure flying here in Essex.
We are gearing up for all the fall programs at the church, and enjoying every minute of it.
Yesterday, we went to Michigan with P. Nathan & Mandy, for some shopping and to eat at the Olive Garden, and it was delicious! I posted pics below. It's so nice being so close to the States. The prices there are amazing.
Our corn field is still growing next to our house. It's VERY tall now! We found out it's actually corn for animals, which is why they haven't harvested it yet. They let it go as long as possible.
Oh, and just so you know, I have developed a VERY bad habit of slamming people's entire hands in the car door. Yes, I know, it's awful! Well, the first incident happened at a youth event. We drove, and had a few girls in the car. Well Nichole, one of the girls, when she went to get out of the back seat, lost her balance as a friend pushed her, and she put her hand through my door to hold on. Anyways, long story short, I slammed the door on her hand, it LATCHED and I didn't realize until I was almost to the McDonalds restaurant. I had to run back, unlatch the door, and get her ice, and quickly!
So, as if that wasn't bad enough, Nichole's DAD was driving in our back seat one day, and when I got out of the front seat, of course I checked for hands (since the last incident, I've been extra careful). There were no hands in the way, so I slammed the door. But as I slammed it, Walt put his hand through my door to help him get out of the car, and I LATCHED his hand in the same door! Awful!!! Daughter and father! But I did look! This time, it was his fault! Anyways, his middle finger is completely black. I felt awful!
So, I say this, just as a warning when I return to Halifax for a visit! Stay clear of my car door!
Oh yes, one more thing, looks as though I will be returning to Halifax for a visit at the beginning of November (just me)! So I am looking forward to that.
Well, good night! I couldn't sleep tonight, hence the post. But I really should try again :) I guess that's what a nap does! Ruins your evening rest!
Chow for now.
