More Spa Pics!

Rosanne being shown this gadget that exfoliates the face (but she's being shown on her hand). Everyone got to have it done to see how smooth it makes your skin!
Time for nourishing eye covers! Next to me is Karen (Pastor Brent's wife), and then Janet!
Ahh! We had to sit quietly, breath deeply, and relax!
This is Christine! What a character! We had to put this white pasty stuff on our lips, and then "schluff" it off onto a napkin, and then rub in a cream. Haha, "schluff" was the word of the night!

Amy's Birthday Dinner with the Girls!

Before we went to East Side Mario's, Amy said we had an activity. We went to the Dollar Store where she gave the 3 of us $2 each. We had to go, and in 20 minutes, find one or two items that most represented us! So, I chose this "FAMILY" bulletin board plaque, because Family is so important to me! And I miss all my Family from NS!
Mandy chose this beautiful pink frame, because pink is her favorite color, she loves pictures, and the frame says "I Love Mommy" and she is pregnant and has always wanted to be a Mom!

Lightning clouds & Amy's Birthday Party!

Cool clouds right before a lightning storm!
Amy chose this platter to represent herself - she gave a lovely explanation of what God has done in her life, through different details of this platter!
Twyla chose these note pads with funny sayings!
Twyla reading her sayings!
One of the items I chose to represent me was a Kit Kat bar (or any chocolate for that matter!)

More Dinner & Dessert

Heather & I
After lunch we went to Jeff & Joanne's for cheesecake. This is their beautiful home! They own their own building company, and do an amazing job!

Sunday Lunch

Some friends invited us out for lunch! (Amy, Walt and Shaun - and Heather!)
Jeff (Joanne's husband - he is one of the board memebers), Kevin next to him - he is from Jamaica! He is working here for the year.
Cute Heather again :)

Driving to Windsor & Supper!

On Friday we went into Windsor (15 - 20 mins drive) to get our licenses changed - this was the day with no AC (although at this very moment, it was still working, which is why I'm smiling!)

Shaun made a DELICIOUS Brushetta Haddock! It was SO good!
About to partake!

It's the Weekend!

Well, we have had a lovely weekend! It is so strange having Shaun off on Fridays (as Sunday is a work day for him now). It seems like we have such a long weekend!

On Friday we went to get our licenses changed. Unfortunately, our air conditioning is not working in our car, and it's been 40+ with the humidex, so it was a sweltering day in the car going to Windsor.

We took the car to Honda last week, but they could not find the problem. Then we took it to Good Year on Friday, and they could not, at first glance, find the problem. So, hopefully this week we will find someone who can look after this for us! We were loving the weather (until the AC stopped!)

Today, I cleaned the house from top to bottom, mopped, and everything! So that's done for a while. Shaun did a few chores outside, etc. He also hung our HUGE mirror in our family room, and it looks great! AND, he made Haddock Brushetta! It was delicious!

So, here we sit, 10:00 PM and church tomorrow. So far, we are really enjoying it here. Lots of new people to meet and things to do. Not sure what our plans are for tomorrow afternoon. We have lots of time then as well, which we aren't used to. Church is over by 12 or 12:15, we usually leave by 12:45 or 1 for sure. Then the evening service does not start until 6:30 PM so it seems like we have forever to relax! It's nice!

Well, that's all for now! Keep in touch :)

Lake St. Clair

Lake St. Clair - a beautiful lake in Belle River about 20 minutes from where we live!
Water is so peaceful, and no salt so it doesn't frizz the hair!
My hunk of a man!
Beautiful sun set!

Light House

Fun turns to Disaster at the Dairy Freez!

Here is the very popular Dairy Freez in Essex! It is ALWAYS packed! Always a line up! Very cheap, yummy ice cream!
It is part of someone's house, and they have a beautiful yard, and many great places to sit!
Beautiful flowers and grounds to sit. So, Shaun and I decided to go last night. I was in a VERY cranky mood (does not happen hardly ever, but yesterday was the day!).
It started well, but turned bad! Shaun told me I should get the ice cream cone dipped in Smarties. So I did. But the girl wrote down M&M's. So I told her, "no I mean smarties" and she said ok. But when I was handed it, it was M&M's. Well, come to find out, it's all the same to them! But I did NOT WANT M&M's! But that was fine, I could deal with it...UNTIL...

My whole ice cream covered in M&M crumbs (double the height in the pic because Shaun had eaten half by now), started melting instantly. It was almost 40 degrees with the humidex. I could not lick fast enough because it was all crumbly with M&M's. To make matters worse, the ice cream was so tall, the M&M crumbs were rolling, snow balling down my ice cream cone, and dropping off like pellets on my legs and hands. Shaun kept trying to tell me he would lick off the M&M's but I said NO! Until finally, in about 60 seconds, my hands were completely covered in M&M's and ice cream, including my shirt, legs and feet. And people were starting to look so I gave it to Shaun (having only had about 2 licks!) So in this picture, he is sitting eating his sundae and my ice cream because after being covered in ice cream and completely sticky, I had no intentions of eating any of that cone!

Well, it was not funny at the time, but today it is hilarious!

Our corn field!

Well, this is the other field behind our house (not the corn!)
This is another picture of our yard. Love it - so flat!
The complete back of our house.
The corn field next door to our house is taller than me! And it's still growing!

It's amazing !!

Bunny & Movie Night

Shaun found a bunny hole, so he left a carrot out for the bunnies! Too cute!

Another day in Essex!

Well, today was a beautiful day! Shaun mowed the lawn for the second time since we've been here, with his new lawn mower. We are loving our yard! Shaun found a bunny hole in the back yard - we have baby bunnies! Too cute. We saw one prancing across the yard tonight.

Shaun is enjoying working at the church. He's basically been trying to get organized, get his computer up and running, and get familiar with everything before things pick up speed too much getting ready for DVBS & the Fall Programs.

On Sunday we went to the Essex fireworks with friends. We have pictures posted below. We've met some wonderful people here who have made us feel very at home.

I have joined a gym here, so I enjoy walking there every day (20 minutes each way). It's a nice walk, or sometimes I walk one way and Shaun picks me up on his way home from work at lunch time.

We are missing our family and friends! But having email and phone makes things much easier:) Can't wait to visit! But I won't get too excited about that yet! That might be a little while.

Oh, and I booked flights yesterday to go to the Joyce Meyer conference in Missouri with my Mom, and a few ladies from church, so I'm excited about that! Darlene Zschech will be there, as well as some other well known ladies so it will be great I imagine! So I will get to see Mom in October!

Well, keep in touch. We love to hear from you!

Fireworks in Essex!

A few families from church invited us to watch the fireworks! They pulled up their vans by a field, put up chairs, ordered pizza, and there you have it - a party!
